YESpay’s CANADA operations seize many firsts!
YESpay is the first company to generically accredit its EMBOSS payment gateway for EMV card processing with Chase Payment and First Data Merchant Services as part of its expansion in North America.
This month we celebrate our first live merchant in Canada! Algonquin College has become the first EMV Chip and PIN approved Card Payments live Merchant on YESpay’s EMBOSS managed Card Payment service in Canada. Algonquin College based in Ottawa, Ontario needed to upgrade its 22 integrated EPOS tills to handle EMV Chip and PIN card transactions by the liability shift date of October 2010. Given the low number of EPOS tills in their estate, it was uneconomical for the College to undergo formal end-to-end bank testing and manage its own PCI-DSS compliance of an in-house payment solution. Algonquin College needed a quick, simple and inexpensive approved integrated EMV payment solution for its POS tills to continue to perform credit and debit card transactions.
YESpay’s partner and supplier of EPOS tills, Cardwatch chose to integrate with EMBOSS because of its ability to alleviate the high development and ongoing costs of PCI-DSS and EMV compliance. The College has been a Cardwatch customer for more than 15 years. In just two weeks after integration, Algonquin College was set up and ready to test the EMV payment solution with minimal internal resources to make it happen and with NO formal bank or PCI-DSS testing.
Algonquin College is the first North American merchant to enjoy an affordable, fast and reliable managed card payment service which is EMV pre-accredited by Chase Paymentech and PCI DSS Level 1 compliant.

YESpay International has worked with CCR Systems, to provide Liverpool Guild of Students with an integrated EPOS payment solution that resolves the problems of slow transaction processing, lowering customer turnover and sub-optimal utilisation of tills.
Discussing the rollout at LGoS, Adi Shakalya, Senior Sales Executive at YESpay International said, “The use of bank owned terminals and sharing a single phone line across multiple tills limited the number of transactions that the Guild could process, slowed down the queues and cost LGoS a lot more on a per transaction basis. YESpay’s EMBOSS service eliminates the need to rekey any transaction values as the payment service is fully integrated with CCR’s EPOS application. In addition, the speed of transaction authorisation is much better because we use IP for processing the transaction requests which can now be completed in less than 3-5 seconds, about 5 times faster than standalone terminals”.
